A European training barn in the San Fernando Valley right in the heart of horse paradise, led by Swedish trainer Carolin Malmkvist. We teach kids and adults, from total beginners to riders showing on the A circuit.

Our program

Carolin sets up each program around the rider and the horse. Some of our riders are getting ready for their first rated show, some are moving up to the jumpers, and some just want to feel more confident on course. A program can include lessons, training rides, daily care and coaching at the shows.

Meet Carolin

Carolin Malmkvist grew up in a horse family in Sweden. She won a State Championship in eventing there and rode in Sweden's Elite Show Jumping Series. Since moving to California, she has won on the A circuit in the hunters, jumpers and equitation.

Her riders will tell you she expects real effort and makes it fun. She's been riding, training and teaching for more than 35 years.

A plan for your season

Carolin helps you pick the shows, the classes and the right time to move up.

Consistent training at home

Carolin works with you in lessons and rides your horse during the week, so you both keep progressing together.

Sales & leasing

Our horses range from patient ponies for young riders to seasoned hunters and jumpers. Most of them are available to lease, and a few are for sale.

Our home is Hillside Farms, a beautiful, quiet property tucked into the foothills of the San Fernando Valley. It's a lovely place to ride, train and spend time with your horse.
